Safety Dance

Here's Betty playing in a shopping bag. Yes, I gave my baby a shopping bag to play with. It was either that or my collection of glass shards. All joking aside, today we decided to babyproof the nursery and the office because Betty is way too mobile now to wait any longer. It's sort of a work-in-progress, but we got rid of all dangling and exposed cords, ladybug carcasses, wicker baskets (except the clothes hamper), and breakables. We also shifted the furniture in the office and are ordering a humongous babygate to partition off the room. There is no way to make the areas around our desks safe so we are just going to divide the room in half and give it over to the baby. We haven't done anything downstairs yet because it's a lost cause, though I will lock up the sink cabinet where we keep the cleaning products. When Betty is old enough to go downstairs to play we're going to move.

Also: I uploaded a video of her taking some baby steps (on facebook), and check out Betty as a guest star on the Newest Nowlin.
